Amber's 2018 Reading List

so.  here's the thing.  recently the hubster + I were talking about our 2018 goals... maybe I should interject here and state this:  my hubster has this amazing ability to spit out truth bombs when you least expect it.  or want it.  

now... back to the story.  we were talking about our 2018 goals... when insert his truth bomb:  

hubs:  love.  if you want to serve others, you need to stay up on your material.  consider reading a new book every few weeks to staying in the 'know'.  

{ boom }  

right?  and he is so true.  however, being a working relief veterinarian with twin 4yr olds who we currently homeschool (see the keyword: currently) and provide daily physical therapy + run a coaching business from home... WHEN am I suppose to find time to read?  hmm... 

and then it hit me... if it's important to me.  I will find the time... and by finding time meant giving up on my Netflix series binge watching.  

you should also know, I hold a "GO BIG or GO HOME" personality type.  so... I reduced my Netflix subscription to simply "streaming" + sat down to form my list.  but what TYPE of books did I want to read... business strategy? spiritual? personal development? chick lit?  documentaries?  nutritional books? cookbooks? 

hmmm.  I figured let's simplify things a wee bit and narrow down the categories to THREE and unfortunately chick lit didn't make the cut.  although, anything by Laurie Notaro is a great place to start!  


here's my list (in no particular order). 

I'm shooting for ONE book per category a month... remember, "go big or go home".   however, there are still a few books I need to add to the list!

the list is a wee bit overwhelming, but no doubt I'll hit a majority of them!  Better to AIM high and to almost reach it than to aim low and succeed, right?  

now.  I would LOVE to hear from you... what are YOU reading this year?  or what book spoke to you in the past that's not on this list yet you recommend?  help me out!  

I'll do my best to give a review of the books as I complete them... wish me luck!!! 

* Bible:  now.  I realize the bible will not be read in the course of ONE month... but, I'll be following a guide to read the bible over the course of the full year in chronological order.  This handy-dandy guide was discovered here on the "she works HIS way" website!
