[RECIPE] Favorite Green Smoothie Loaded With Superfoods

recipes

This smoothie recipe is one of my favorites and one I have almost every single day. We do change it up a wee bit here and there because, to be honest…. I typically share my smoothie with the Gillies, our twins and some days they ask for chocolate or berries to be added. And I’m not going to rock that boat because with smoothies, it’s a way I can sneak in some extra greens and superfoods! You feel me?

Anywho. This smoothie recipe, like I said I make almost every single day… no matter if I’m traveling- I’ll even check my luggage to make sure my nutri-bullet makes the trip! So, I decided to write out the recipe for members in our Biohacker Babe Community— and maybe YOU would want to know, too!

Now, I snagged this recipe from the book, Body Love… which is AMAZING and you can catch my FULL review here! There’s tons of delicious recipes + many more smoothie recipes I snag for when, like I said, the Gillies ask for chocolate or berries, instead.

What’s next? Just dump all the ingredients into a blender and turn it on! Some folks think you should add certain ingredients FIRST to make sure it blends it properly… here’s my thing. I tend to forget the ingredients so remembering in a certain order, just won’t happen. Plus, the Vitamix blends things to perfection for me without any effort on my end. So…. dump contents in blender - place cap on blender - blend - enjoy!

HERE’S FEW ADDITIONAL TIPS:

  • Spinach: wash/dry the fresh spinach thoroughly, then place in a ziplock bag in the freezer. By doing this, you’ll save $$$. How? Well, you aren’t wasting produce and throwing it away because it spoiled. Plus, it makes the smoothie extra cold which is a bonus in my book!

  • Almond Butter: I love adding a wee bit of almond butter in my smoothie.

  • Avocado: the avocado makes it super creamy + you can’t really taste the avocado. However, if you aren’t a huge fan opt for another healthy fat alternative like coconut oil.

    • I use 1/4 of an avocado then will SAVE the remaining avocado by scooping out the meat and dicing it up… then placing it in the freezer for future smoothie use! WIN WIN!

Now, I’ll be 100% honest… did I love this recipe from day one? Um, no. It wasn’t like the strawberry-banana smoothie or chocolate almond butter smoothie I was use to sipping. However, I love how this smoothie fills me UP + keeps my energy levels up throughout the day… Seriously. I break my fast with this smoothie around 10am or so and will stay full + energized while homeschooling the Gillies, our twins. My next meal is typically around 2pm, so I think that’s pretty good, right?

And that is it… the GREEN SMOOTHIE I have almost every day from the book, Body Love by Kelly LeVeque! I believe it’s her original Fab4Smoothie recipe… HOLLA!

As always, the more you know, the more you can grow. Fill me in on if you use this recipe by sharing with our tribe OR simply send me a DM on the gram of insta!

The quote, "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one", is one of my favorites as it celebrates the ability to be passionate about more than one thing.  A few of my passions shared on this website include: business strategy, biohacks, books and badsass endurance events.
