Finding Your Purpose is More Than Just Identifying Your Why

If you have been an entrepreneur for longer than a second, you most likely heard the phrase... Identify Your Why!   Know Your Why!  Go Back To Your Why... when you feel like giving up!

And on the off chance that you never heard of this before, let me fill ya in.  Your "WHY" is known as the driving force of your business.  It's a deep, impactful and quite personal reason YOU get your tired little bottom out of bed every morning to dive into your business.

Your "WHY" is what you'll dig into and hold tightly as your will power to keep going on the entrepreneurial rollercoaster is thrown off the tracks.  Your "WHY" keeps you grounded and keeps you hungry for your goal.

HOWEVER.....

I think there's MORE to knowing your WHY to keep yourself moving forward.  And it's not having more discipline (which can't hurt) or hiring a coach to hold you accountable (which also can't hurt).... but it's truly realizing your purpose.

Discovering what your beautiful soul was placed on this green Earth to do... which sounds rather intense, but here's the thing.  Your purpose can evolve, as you do.  Your purpose can only make sense to you, which it most likely will.  Your purpose can be multifaceted.

I realize "finding your purpose" can feel heavy, but what've I discovered is you can ask yourself a slew of questions to help bring it to life.  And please note, there's a ton of questions which might awaken your purpose --- these just helped me!

FIRST QUESTION

What do YOU enjoy doing?  What is something which brings a small to your face?  What is something that makes you feel energized?  What is something that you loose track of time when you are doing it?

I know basic question, but let me tell. you a story.  When I was in my clinical year of veterinary school, one of my rounds was emergency medicine.  Three weeks over the holidays.  This rotation was filled with late nights, critical cases and lots of hours at the hospital; however, when I finally came up for air, the hubster pointed out he never saw me smile so much during my clinical year.

It's when I realized how much I truly love veterinary emergency medicine.  Spoiler alert:  I am currently not actively practicing but this brings me to the point I made earlier:  YOUR PURPOSE CAN EVOLVE!

SECOND QUESTION

What is something which you are good at doing?  In your circle of friends, what is the ONE thing your friends constantly ask you for help?  What are you known for doing?  What do you find yourself being volunteered for or maybe it's questions you get in your DMs about?

Again, story time!  One question I seem to receive in my DMs more than most is.... how do I balance mama-hood with being a digital entrepreneur and working from home?   It started with hoping on calls with fellow digital CEO moms then evolved into coaching 1:1 and now a small intimate mastermind of mamas building their empires.

The key is keep your eyes open on what YOU are good at doing + sometimes, your friends are best to point it out!

FINAL QUESTION

What ways do you want to serve?  This is sort of a weird question but what kind of impact do YOU want to make on the world, your community, your family, on YOU?  Do you want to serve to millions on a stage? Do you want to have books in thousands of women's hands?  Do you want to contribute to your local community?

Something that helped me realize how I could answer this question is... what FIRES me up inside?  What gets my Cajun blood hot?  What pisses me off when folks say THIS?

There's quite a few things which fire me up, I'm human.  But for the purpose of this content, I'll share this one - when folks say they can't build their own business without sacrificing family time.  What?!?!  You can BUILD your business, create the impact YOU want and still BE the mama YOU want to be!

And, in this season of my life, I'm determined to help digital entrepreneurs do just that!  It's why I created the Biohacker Boss Babe Mastermind...

But here's the thing.  Knowing your WHY is important, but it's NOT the only question to ask yourself.  What do you enjoy doing?  What is your talent?  And What ways do YOU want to serve?

Once you set with these questions + discovered the answers, I would love for you to share them with me in our community!   Until then...

Grit + Gumption,

BIOHACK GUIDE

There's only two currencies in life:  time and energy. We may not be able to generate more time, but you certainly can generate more energy.  Let me show you how!

Note

The quote, "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one", is one of my favorites as it celebrates the ability to be passionate about more than one thing.  A few of my passions shared on this website include: business strategy, biohacks, books and badsass endurance events.
