I write things I care about most... and occasionally get paid for it.
Books with morally gray men, building a strong body in midlife, the chaos and beauty of real life, and becoming the woman I was always meant to be.
QUICK BACKGROUND
I spent years as an Emergency and Critical Care Veterinarian... which basically means I made life or death decisions at 3am with coffee as my only safety net. I was good at it. I also burned out of it. Not because I didn't love the work... I did... but because I realized I had a different story to tell.
After four years being trained and coached by a leading digital entrepreneur, I learned how the online business world actually works. Then I decided I'd rather help people tell their own stories than spend forever telling someone else's.
Let's not name drop, shall we? That's just tacky.
Nowadays I write... for myself and for clients who need their words to actually sound like them... between homeschooling my twins, logging miles on trails that have no business being that steep, and recording Morally Gray Babes with my book bestie, Jen.
Oh... and I'm writing a novel. It's done actually. It's being edited. Her name is Fate + Tassels and she's set in a small town in Idaho where an omniscient narrator named Fate tracks the probability of two people finding each other.
I'm a little obsessed with it. And hopefully, you will be too.
ONCE UPON A TIME...
I was deep in the NICU season with twins -Â
Sleep-deprived, stressed and trying to keep tiny humans alive while holding myself together.
I used to think I could outwork anything. Emergency vet brain... triage everything, fix everything, keep going. And then the twins came early and the NICU happened and I realized very quickly that I could not outwork this.
That season cracked something open. Not in a broken way... in a necessary way. I started paying attention to what actually mattered. What I actually wanted. What kind of woman I was becoming while I was busy surviving.
It took a few years. A career pivot. A lot of miles on a lot of trails. A dark romance book at 11pm that made me feel something again. And eventually... a story I needed to write.
That story became Fate + Tassels.
And this corner of the internet became the place where I write about all of it.
