A Coffee Date With My Younger Self: What I Wish I Knew Sooner

inspiration

I Had Coffee With My Younger Self Today…

Well, let’s be real—she had an energy drink in hand, because coffee was never her thing. She tried to like it, but we both know… she never will.

She rushed in, barely pausing to sit, always moving, always hustling, always running on fumes. Sleep was an afterthought, stress was her fuel, and she thought pushing through exhaustion was just what successful people did.

She had no idea her body was trying to tell her something.

I see her now—the girl who thought grit meant burnout and success meant sacrifice. Who thought she had to prove her worth by outworking everyone else.

She remembers late nights in vet school, fueled by Rockstar energy drinks and fireball candies (peak health choices, obviously). She thought the long hours and exhaustion would be worth it once she arrived at success.

But she had no clue.

She had no idea she’d walk away from it.
No idea she’d pivot, not once, but multiple times.
No idea that leaving what she thought was her dream would open doors to something even greater.

She didn’t know that one day, she’d be homeschooling two incredible little humans, helping entrepreneurs master storytelling, running 100-mile races, and building a life she actually loves living.

She had no idea that rest isn’t weakness and her body isn’t the enemy.

Now?

She’s rewriting the script. She’s helping women do the same—ditch the toxic hustle, stop running themselves into the ground, and build something that aligns with their body and their business.

Because here’s what she’s finally learned:

1️⃣ Managing stress isn’t a luxury—it’s essential. For hormones, for energy, for actually being present in life.
2️⃣ Hydration before caffeine. Trust me—electrolytes change the game.
3️⃣ Rest isn’t resistance—it’s strategy. The version of you who wins isn’t the one who burns out trying.

Before she left, I hugged her tight and whispered:

The path won’t go as planned, but trust me—what’s coming is better than anything you could imagine. Keep going. Stay focused. Honor your body. And get ready for the wildest, most beautiful ride. 💛

Note

I’ve always loved that quote: “A jack of all trades…” because it gives permission to be obsessed with more than one thing... without apologizing for it.

This corner of the internet is built on dark romance, honest writing, and becoming the woman I was always meant to be. Sprinkle in some morally gray chaos and you're home.
